Kinnairdy Castle is situated in the Deveron Valley, half way between Huntly and Banff in rural Aberdeenshire
Kinnairdy Castle consists of two parts, the present stone Tower which dates to around the 14th century and the Palace, built in the 16th century. The internal redecoration of the Palace was completed in 2002. The exterior of the building was repointed using traditional materials which included lime mortar and goat hair after which several coats of colour wash were applied. Kinnairdy is available as self catering accommodation for up to eight persons, situated on a small hillock overlooking the Deveron, an excellent Salmon and Sea Trout river. For those who may wish to take advantage of the fishing, there are two beats within walking distance of Kinnairdy which may be booked independently of the Castle which is available all year. Many of our guests have been regular visitors for 15 or more years, staying in the former holiday cottage before Kinnairdy was made habitable again. Kinnairdy Castle is owned by Mr Colin Innes, Baron of Aberchirder, it is looked after by a resident caretaker. Prospective viewings are strictly by prior arrangement. NB: While guests are in residence we regret that viewings are not possible..
